[REFELCTION] How important the skills of gathering and sharing information effectively is.

This semester was mainly about finding a topic to research about and gather information, as well as sharing the information with others through an essay. I would like to write briefly about what I think about "how" it is important to have these skills in the future.

In the world today, it is reasonable to consider the internet as our major platform for gathering information. When we see documents and essays by others, we can almost always see from the works cited, that most of the sources are from the internet (webpage, article and etc.). Moreover, the world today is centered around not just the internet, but all informational platforms. Since the breakthrough of the informational revolution within our world, the value of an individuals information has decreased, and the need for information from multiple sources has been common for many tasks. As we can see from the changes of our world, the ability to gather information has become more valuable in the world today. Furthermore, the next revolution is highly likely to be a "knowledge revolution". Therefore, we must be able to have the ability to "process gathered information and output the information in a custom way (like essays) effectively. The reason why is maybe simply because: "we are not a robot".

[LEARNED] Launching a Site & Rules of Design

Google Sites provides us a great service on creating a new website, sharing and staying connected simply. Today, we have learned about Google Sites. You can consider Google Sites as a Google Docs that allows you to publish sites with an awesome management tools and options for several new pages to add to your site. The introduction to Google Sites has lead us to learn some designing rules, which are the colours, images, and the fonts. Keeping the rules of design on my mind should help me on my presentation and projects.

[Reflection] Reflection on this semester

This semester, I've learned mainly 2 things. 1. Slide Design 2. Roles in group presentation. Slide Design:  This semester, I've tried to challenge a new style of slide design ("new" meaning not following everything of the demonstration and the lessons given at class). I have tried my best to try to use more of "icon" based design, which I thought would be nice, theme wise.  The first time I saw icon based presentation slides was a video archive of Facebook Keynote Presentation. I saw the beauty of having matched color schemes (in Facebooks case, it was blight blue, a color which is color-blind friendly). So, I took my time to get some inspirations of icon based presentation slide designs, and came upon a free to use icons to use. As a result, Kai and I have decided to create slides with matching color schemes, and as well as isometric icons I've found on the internet. Roles in group presentation:  At the beginning of the year, we learned about ...

[Review] End of the Semester

It is very hard to believe to the fact that it is already the end of the whole first semester. This semester, I have learned many skills on creating and sharing ideas effectively and creatively. The environment can change our ideas, as well as our thoughts for how to share and keep the idea. Thanks to all of the research and support from my team (Funky Donut Designs and Developers at GitHub.com) I have become more knowledgeable, and creative for more projects to tackle on in the future. Thank you for reading, and thank you for your support.
